Ripon Bid in conjunction with Yorkshire Appetite introduce the Ripon Food Tour. You will discover the essence of this ancient town and one of the smallest cities in England. You will get to gaze upon the magnificent historical buildings and learn about its thriving market and history through the ages. This little gem also has a great community of independent bars and restaurants who serve a selection of delicious dishes to delight your tastebuds. With a knowledgeable local guide and the company of other foodies, you will not only be enjoying lunch at five places rather than just one but you will also be supporting our local independents.
What to expect
Your tour guide will greet you at the Obelisk on the Market Place in Ripon. Please arrive for a prompt 11.00 am start.
Tours take place so please dress for the weather – layers are best and wear suitable footwear for a gentle stroll.
We will be walking around the city and down to the river. It will be a gentle stroll although there are some cobbled streets. We walk around a mile in total. We suggest a small breakfast!
It is a food tour and as our visitors have shown us, not everyone shares the same thirst! Our tour has one drink included at the last stop but there are opportunities to buy your own to accompany your tastings.
