Food Tours are a fantastic way for visitors to get to know a place and enjoy all the best their food and drink scene has to offer. The British Food scene has so much to offer and no longer is British food considered a poor relation to our European counterparts. There is so much good food out there and we want visitors to enjoy it to the max.
A food tour allows people to try out not just one restaurant but several and really give them a feel of the place. People these days are looking for experiences, not material possessions, and good food is loved by everyone. Food Tourism is growing annually and if you would like to be part of that we can help you set up your own.
What we offer
We offer a 7 module course to help you avoid many costly pitfalls in setting up a food tour business and provides a model to follow for a high quality product. Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours have been running now since 2017 and have been enjoyed by hundreds of visitors to the north. We now want to pass on this successful business model so you can provide such an offering in your town. Food tourism is growing every year and there is so much creative and culinary talent out there, there is certainly no shortage of customers nor tasting partners that offer top quality food. Tourists and locals alike enjoy finding new places to eat, places they might not otherwise have experienced
Kay developed Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours inspired by her experience of a food tour in Chicago in 2011. In 2016, after years of a high stress job, Kay made the leap. Having experienced several food tours, - some much better than others – Kay was ready to introduce Harrogate, now her home, to the food tour. It had a thriving independent food and drink scene and a rich history and culture and so was an ideal setting. But Kay was determined the tour would be of a high quality and so looked to her first inspiration in Chicago. She decided to invest in workshop which would lay down the basics of a food tour and travelled to Chicago in 2017 which led to the creation of Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours that same year.
That workshop saved her a lot of time and effort and costly mistakes and, along with continued post course support, allowed Kay to develop Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours. Since Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours started in 2017, the number of visitors has grown steadily and they have added other tours to their offering. Kay has been joined by a great team of guides and has met such lovely and interesting people along the way.
Kay has used her experience in writing and delivering courses along with her experience of running Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours to create a course which will help you develop your own food experience business. The course will give you the knowledge you need to start your own business and the post workshop consultancy can help you with ongoing support.
